    Situation is like this:

Currently using Mcafee VirusScan Professional Version 8.0 (was able to UPDATE the virus definations - DAT file created: 10/19/2005). However, i think this is quite an old AV version created in ard 2003...Am i in any risk because the program is old?

So i was wondering whether i shld just uninstall it and get like AVAST free home edition....Thanks

You are not really in a big risk. Since its from 2003 its probably just missing some features that the 10 version has but no a big worry as long as you keep it up-to-date and do weekly scans with it.

I would just stick too McAfee until your licence expires. Then unistall it and install avast ;)

No, unless it has come out with a great new feature.

As far as antivirus itself, different versions of the same program all use the same definitions, so as long as you keep it updated you are just as well protected.
