Anyone know of a good free harddrive cleaner?

Hey guys Im new here, but i have enjoyed this website, and yeah it makes u feel geeky.

Anyway i have a question for my geeky brethern.

After a year on Iolo System Mechanic 4, i went back to Norton antivirus and system works, (I like it better), but i have three computers in the house and cant afford Nortons for them all.

I was wondering besides CCleaner which i like a lot is there a freeware out their that can do good disk cleans of old files. (No im not a pornster, but after having my system hijacked a dozen times I want to make sure my files are safe) ??????? anyway I need something not to complex because some of them you can delete system files on. any thoughts?

 

There are many free tools that you can use to protect your system and remove various 'badies'. No tool is 100% Safe when working with the registry and system files. A good place to start would be with this thread, How to Protect yourself from malware!, there are some really good tools listed in that thread.

System Mechanic had a nice cleaner, but thats about the only think i like about the Iolo product. Appreciate it.

Besides CCleaner, I use another freebie called Cleanup! (www.cleanup.stevengould.org). Never a problem with either one.
