AskNerd, in an expose of registry cleaner commercial reviewers posing as independent and unbiased reviewers (What is the Best Registry Cleaner to Use ?), stated that he was using/had used both XP Medic ( xpmedic.com ) and Registry Patrol and recommended both.

However, in users reviews on CNET forum "PC applications & utilities" Registry Patrol was found to be lacking support to the point that the reviews were so negative that I wondered whether any Geeks had similar experience?

Yep, mgbinnewhaw. I've been trying to use it for awhile, but all it's done is make me mad. I can only get it to work in Windows Safe Mode, but not all the modules behave themselves. My bug detector says XP Medic is causing a continual Range Check Error (whatever that is) at a particular memory address. I guess I'll try it on another machine, but other postings make me think it won't do any good. You ever get yours fixed (or refunded)? LUCK!
