    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow as much of our standard cleaning procedures as your antique OS ;) will allow. These steps are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments. You have a load of bad stuff installed and should make sure you uninstall all this bad stuff via Add/Remove programs. Things like Spyblocs, Eacceleration, SpyHunter, RapidBlaster, MovieNetworks, ETraffic, and TopMoxie should all be uninstalled if found in Add/Remove programs.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
    .

Thank you for the information and sorry for the short response. Whenever I try to run any of the programs the browser shuts down so I can't run a virus scan. So I was looking for those programs to delete from add/remove programs. Is that preferable to using my clean sweep program. i.e. the top moxie is on my computer (whatever it is) and not in add/delete programs. Are those spyware programs not doing anything for me (and causing hard) as you think they are causing damage? As you can tell I am not acomputer expert and I truly appreciate this help. Thanks for all you're doing:)

Do you mean that you cannot download the programs? You don't need a browser to run them. You only need it to download them. (The exception is for the online scans in step 6. For those, you do need a browser.) How did you get HijackThis downloaded if you cannot download files?

Did you download and run the other tools listed in the READ ME. You should at least to steps 0 thru 5 as best as possible and report the results. Let us know which items you can and cannot run. Since your OS is so out of date, there may be problems running various tools. Win95 is just not a supported operating system anymore.

Did you find any of the other items I listed in Add/Remove programs. TopMoxie was only 1 item out of 7. If fact, do the below:

Getting an installed programs list from HijackThis!
    • Run HijackThis, click Open the Misc Tools section
    • Click Open Uninstall Manager
    • Click Save List (generates uninstall_list.txt)
    • Click Save, to save it to a file where you can find it.
    • Attach the uninstall_list.txt file to your next message.

What's with all the screen saver items in add/remove programs? Do you really need this junk? I recommend uninstall ALL of these:
    Anna Nicole Smith Screen Saver
    Aubade Screen Saver
    Baywatch Hawaii 2000 Screen Saver
    B-Spears Screen Saver
Celebs Nude <--- I'm assuming this is also a screen saver
    Christmas Screen Saver
    Cindy Crawford Screen Saver
    Demi Moore Screen Saver
    Erika Eleniak Screen Saver
    Forces of Nature Screen Saver
    Gillian Bonner Nude Screen Saver
Holly Celebs <--- I'm assuming this is also a screen saver
    Jennifer-Lopez Screen Saver
    Jenny McCarthy Screen Saver
    Kiana Tom Screen Saver
    Mariah Carey Screen Saver
    Pamela Anderson Screen Saver
    Patricia Ford Screen Saver
    Samantha Fox Screen Saver
Sexy Lolitas <--- I'm assuming this is also a screen saver
    Sexy SuperStore Screen Saver
    Shania-Twain Screen Saver
    Sinful Savers -Blonde Screen Saver
    Sinful Savers -Brunette Screen Saver
    Sports Illustrated Swimsuit'99 Screen Saver
    Stacy Sanches Nude Screen Saver
    Stephanie Seymour Screen Saver
Strip Saver <--- I'm assuming this is also a screen saver
    Tango Postcards Screen Saver
    Teri Hatcher Screen Saver
    Verona Feldbusch Screen Saver
Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Screen Saver
    Wild Things Screen Saver

Here is a list of other thing you must uninstalled. Four of them I mentioned should be uninstalled in my first message. A few other should have been uninstalled while doing step 0 of the READ ME.

    Comet - Comet Cursor 3.0
    Coupons
    dashBar
    eAcceleration
    eAcceleration Download Receiver
    Hotbar for Netscape
    LimeShop
    LimeWire 2.1.3
    RapidBlaster
    SpyBlocs v2.0
    SpyHunter
    Viewpoint Media Player (Remove Only)
    WebEx
    Zipclix

After uninstalling all of these attach a new uninstall list and attach a new HijackThis log.

steps 0-5 cannot be run as the download is on a browser and before it completes boots me out with waol error, or not windows 95 capatable. Many of the programs are blank and will not let me remove them. How do I remove them? Also, any idea why topmoxie isn't showing up in add/remove programs?

I don't know what you mean by on a browser?

You should have no problem downloading the files. Whether they can actually be installed and run on a Win95 system is a different issue altogether.

What do you mean the programs are blank? And exactly what programs are you referring too? Did you uninstall any of the items I listed? If so, which ones?

Don't worry about it? Not all programs always have an install and they don't always use the same name as what you see in a run list either. You have more to worry about than this.

I'm still not sure what your exact problem is. Do you mean that you cannot DOWNLOAD any files because you get that error message? What is the EXACT word for word error message? Is it this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306392

This does not sound like malware.

    There was another question:

when I go to add/delete programs there are some programs that are listed which when you have the cursor on them and list the contents (has a grayed area saying none). I must have deleted (but not through add/delete programs).

I tried to dwonload an anti-virus and it said not enough space (although I had 20 mb free space), which was 90 mb. Something appears to be taking the space I am creating. Another anti-virus I tried to download said cannot save the ie content file. The spybot and spyremover are spy-tracking software I previously installed and am hestitant to remove if that is my only awareness of spy tracking software. It came up with 10 severe registry infected and like two files and 6 folders, in some of the programs you mentioned. I have an older version of mccaffee which says I get virus updates and comes up with nothing. PC doctor says the driver is bad? Should I just delete the topmoxie files; that's the only way I know to remove?

You need to be more specific. Which ones are grayed out? You need to use the two lists of things I mentioned that should be uninstalled (in message #9) and tell me which ones you have uninstalled and which you could not or did not uninstall.

If you only have 20 Mb or even 90 Mb left free on your hard disk, you need to either uninstall and delete a ton of files or you need to install a new hard disk and move some file over to the new hard disk. A better idea would be to buy a new PC though. Win95 is not supported anymore. You cannot do very much and your OS will have problems running with so little free disk space.

I did not say to remove Spybot. The ones I did list are junk or malware themselves. But since your OS is so old and outdated (and you are out of hard disk space too), you are very limited in what software will support your OS.

Do you have a contract with McAfee to get updates? If not, then you cannot get updates. Your software version may not even be supported anymore.
