AOL monster

I am attempting to remove AOL from a computer. We had parental controls on, but now we don't need them and decided to ditch AOL. I uninstalled AOL itself, but the parental controls have gone wild. I can't uninstall them - it says I'm not an administrator - but I AM the administrator. It won't let me do just about anything on the computer...keeps saying access denied. How can I get rid of this monster!:cry

 

more information is needed. what is your os (ie - xp, vista). are there any other aol programs on your comp (in add/remove programs)? have you tried booting into "safe mode", and uninstalling from there? reboot your comp (or boot up), and start tapping the f8 key, you should get to a window with a bunch of options (ie - safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc), pick one of those two, and login, then try what you were trying (up above).

is there anyway to disable the parental controls, or did you have to do that within aol? here are a couple of links.

try this stuff, i'm wondering if you have aol items in your startup? if you have ccleaner, you could post a screenshot of your startup from there (tools/startup). but, let us know how this goes. - g/l, sos
