If you're running Windows Vista or later, go to All Programs and look for Arista VD folder and see if the uninstaller is there.

Download Void Tools; it is better at finding things than MS's built in search.

Type in Artista.* and if anything is found, write down the location. Go to that location and remove what is there.

Search again until nothing with Artista is found.

    Thanks for the tip.

the only instance found is Artista referring to web pages, in users/app data\microsoft\tempfiles that reference my files w/ forums.

have only found ref to artista using regedit (quite a few more than 30).
did not wish to take that on; unless i get some expert advice.

The XLS sheet isn't attached. Send the sheet to a zipped folder and then attach that folder to your next post.

You've zipped the shortcut to the file instead of the file itself.

I'll have to defer looking at this. My computers don't do xls files. I'll need to "steal" time on my husband's computer and have a look.

Since I have a guest coming fot the day, it will not be til this evening. (I'm on the east coast of the US).

    Oh no.
That's an opendocument spreadsheet, not an Excel (.xls) spreadsheet.

I have no idea what that means.

I downloaded, unzipped and the extension is ods.
So it is an OpenOffice spreadsheet. I have an old version of OO in linux on a netbook but I don't want to go that route.

I went to Zamar online, converted it to a pdf and got it thru my email.

I usually send files to people pdf. Most everyone can read those.

I will have a look at it.

After noticing the .ods file extension, I opened it in Notepad. Right at the top it said opendocument.spreadsheet. I knew it was in fact an OpenOffice Spreadsheet. But I have nothing to properly open it with.

BTW Which Office Suite do you use?

Not sure, it is on a linux computer purchased in Jan. 2008. I don't fire that up because the distro is so old and with only a 4GB ssd in the thing, I can not update it. I simply run it with a modern distro live from a USB stick. (Currently running LXLE Desktop2015-04-05)

I looked at the file and I'm getting a path that starts
    HKLM\system\DeviceDescription
I have no registry keys like that anywhere.

At this point, I don't know what to tell you to do.

Or you positive the path is HKLM\system\DeviceDescription or are there things between system and DeviceDescription?
