ASUS A7V8X-X - no digital outout detected

    I had my mobo's sound connections feeding my amp wth 5.1 on the analogue but thought - what the hell - I'll use the digital output to my digital processor. :(
    The processor is telling me that no signal is detected.
    The SoundMAX utilty in Control Panel has both the PCM and ac3 boxes ticked and yet I have no sound :(
    Processor is a Yamaha DDP2

    Any ideas?

    The sound does work on WinDVD if set to external processor, so this might be a driver issue...
