ASUS Chromebox questions

OK Here goes nothing....Greetings all from a newbie to this site. I Have a ASUS Chromebox and want to use a Pistol grip Video game Controller made by Thrustmaster , the T.Flight stick X model. It has a PC /PS3 Switch and is USB Cabled. How can i configure it to work on a ASUS Chromebox? Would i need to Program it on a PC, then bring in back and plug in to CB? Will i need a external hard drive to configure accessories? I'm a Disabled Veteran With Limited use of One hand and using a Keyboard to play Online games like TANK online are difficult. The Flight controller style stick is programmable per individual buttons and would be perfect. Thanks very much in advance. Bummed out in Maine
