I looked... and couldn't find this specific issue, so forgive me if i'm treading old ground.

I've had my asus m2n-e motherboard for a while, and was pretty impresed with the 3001 BIOS update (allowing AM3 CPU support), so i decided to invest in a 95w phenom II 945.

All good on loading up windows 7, but when i tried to adjust boot processor use in configuration, my choices were limited to 2!

CPU-Z confirms 2 cores/2 threads, but in computer management there are 4 processors listed. I'm confused as to whether my CPU is working at capacity. Also, it's running at a suspiciously cool 32 degrees while running 1080p video but that could be a result of the lower power requirements compared to my old 6000+

is there any definitive way to tell?

    Thanks in advance, Pete

SOLVED: If anyone else comes across this problem following a CPU upgrade, you need to open msconfig.exe, uncheck 'number of processors' in boot tab (Advanced options), reboot... and then select 4 cores when you restart.
