ATAPI DVD W DH16W1P ATA Device

    Hi. My MIL has a Home Premium edition Vista PC with a ATAPI DVD W DH16W1P ATA Device burner in it. For some reason we are unable to burn audio CDs.

    I have successfully created a data CD with it and that is working great.

    Software being used is Windows Media Player. After clicking "burn" the process kicks off and seems to burn the CD....but upon completion there is nothing there and NO errors. The disk is not playable on a computer or in a CD player. And weirder still the computer says the disk is Empty. There is a shadow on the disk that makes it appear as though something was written, but it is blank.

    We did try more than one disk to ensure it is not the disk itself. Using CD-R cds.

    Any suggestions?
