Audigy SE - no tone control?

I'd posted a week or two about my old SB Live! card going bad. Because of that, I went out this weekend and picked up an Audigy SE for $30 to replace it. I play games and listen to music but I don't need a ridiculously high-end card, so I did some research and the SE sounded like it would work well for me. I just installed it and everything's working great, except for one thing-- it appears that the tone controls (bass and treble) are disabled, for some crazy reason. Heck, even the Live! had those controls enabled.

After a bit more poking around, I came across a post on Amazon where someone commented on the lack of tone controls. I haven't been able to find any documentation that implies this can be changed, so I'm some what disappointed. I don't need $100 or $200 sound, but I would at least like the option to increase the treble levels so audio doesn't sound quite so muffled.

My question is, does anyone know if there's some way to enable the tone control? If not, can someone suggest another soundcard (preferably a Creative Labs one) that's a similar price range, or at least under $100, that does have the ability to adjust tone control?

Does the X-Fi have tone control?

    Thanks,
