I used housecall and deleted the file because it couldn't be healed....

AVG says it healed this virus
    Downloader.Delf.5.AV

Thus far I am not having any real problems... But I wonder if this is fixed now and too I've not rebooted since I did housecall...
ran spybot and ad aware last night and fixed all of those problems.
Ran HiJackThis, but I dunno enough about what I am looking at to mess with that...
Do I just leave things alone and run housecall and AVG again later? AVG IS right now showing no viruses  I hate being this computer illiterate lol

That's one of the things I never liked about AVG.. It detects well, but cleans horribly.

    Try Avast! Home Edition 4.5.523

Aside from that, you should be fine if housecall dumped the file.

I downloaded Avast and ran the scan, it showed no infection, yet AVG is still showing not just one but 2 infections, and both are showing to be healed in AVG... I have ran Kill2Me and Stinger with no problems .. I wonder if my AVG has gotten corrupted somehow?

what is it showing and where?

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSSHED32.EXE
    Downloader.Delf.5.AV
    Healed ok
is showing on the test result complete test for 12-10-04 page
There is only one other virus caught in the virus vault and it is also showing healed, yet AVG gave me a gray block pop up that told me it was there and I needed to run AVG for windows to heal it, same as the other virus I mentioned. This happens occassionally, just since last nights AVG scan. Like I said Avast is showing the system clean and even AVG shows the system clean when I run another scan.

if the file is still in that location, then delete it manually..

It's not there... Should I uninstall AVG and just go with Avast perhaps? Does it seem like AVG has been corrupted?

    C:\SystemVolumeInformation\_restore{5E11B88C-DODO4232-B0E7-6C2906ACF27D}\RP89\A0008467.exe

ok I think I've found the culprit, is it ok to delete this file? even Avast wouldn't repair it ... Kept showing an error when I tried to repair this virus showed upon boot up scan

uhhm ok... When I did a search on my computer for this file I got a window that says: C:\SystemVolumeInformation\_restore{5E11B88C-DODO4232-B0E7-6C2906ACF27D}\RP89\A0008467.exe refers to a location which is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure the disk is properly inserted (I have no disk inserted) or that you are connected to the internet or network (I am). If it still cannot be located , the information may have been moved to a different location. Now I've not tried to delete this yet using the Avast tools, simply because I am unsure if I should delete it or not...

turn off your system restore and it will remove the file. then you can turn system restore back on.

ok... After I thought the computer was clean, I started having problems with IE not loading well... Then finally it stopped loading my hotmail or signing me into msn period (not messenger, just msn ) other web sites it will load but it is real slow to load...I ran ad aware and spybot several times and removed a bunch of things in fact 297 things the first time... Funny thing is, I had just ran ad aware the week before and the machine was clean, spybot showed the same thing...This is what spybot says it removed on 12-14-04 : 2020Search(1 problem), Alexa Related(1 problem), BlazeFind.SearchEnhancer.IST bar(2 problems), CoolWWWSearch.AFF.Winshow(1 problem), DSO Exploit(35 problems), Windows AdTools(1 problem), DyFuCA(2 problems), eZula Hot Text(3 problems), ISTbar.Slotch(5 problems), n-Case(2 problems), Statblaster.MemoryWatcher.b (5 problems), WebRebates/TopRebates(4 problems), WildMedia ( 4 problems) plus 379 items in Ad aware just on the first scan, with another 5 scans in the last 2 days removing yet another 424 problems all total...I ran both again tonight and it is still picking up 24 items that seem to come back after the machine is rebooted... AVG and Avast are coming up clean and so is Stinger and CW shredder... I ran Hijack this and there looks like some oddball entries but there again I don't know enough about this stuff to delete or remove anything.
