.avi or .wmv to DVD software needed!

Guys,

I'm trying to make a DVD from a Movie project made by Windows movie maker.
I was able to save the movie as .wmv or .avi format but can't find a free software to make a DVD.
All these converters and DVD makers I have found were not free.
I know one of you guys have a free version out there. Can you help me find it?

Or if you have any better/faster way to make DVD(needs to be played on any DVD player) out of wmv or avi files, please let me know!

Get K-Lite mega Codec Pack, it should have all the tools you need.
google search will help you find it

 

no, no...they need a program to BURN a dvd...the k-lite codec pack is for sound and video playback. plus, don't send someone to google when its already here...

It doesn't burn DVDs but it has the option to save the finished product as an iso file which can be burned using the previously mentioned CD Burner XP or Imgburn: http://majorgeeks.com/ImgBurn_d4870.html

It's the easiest way I've found to make a DVD movie disc without spending with your hard earned cash. I use Nero (it's easier to use but not free) but I played around with it and it does a very good job.

 

First of all, thank you very much for your help and fast response. This is why I love MajorGeeks.
Anyway, I've tried AVI2DVD already. It works as far as converting wmv or avi to DVD format. but it leaves watermark and the quality of the video was horrible after I burned it and tested it.
I thought I missed some settings so I've tried many different settings/configuration, but it was still the same.

Am I missing steps here? How can I get rid of watermarks?

PS. I already have a burner: Nero. I'm looking for a converter - like avi2dvd - that works...

 

You did not go to the site I linked, did you? The Avi2DVD program I pointed you to does not leave any watermarks. I am certain you have confused the program I suggested with another.

And a Nero Question. Why can't you use Nero to make your DVD? Is it an earlier version that lacks Nerovision? Does it lack the DVD Video plug-in?
