I use Avast on the Vista desktop, and Avira on the XP desktop and on my laptop. The desktop install of Avira works fine and has no problems, but the installed version on the laptop keeps telling me it needs to update. When I try to update it I get an error message saying "status: no valid license file available".

    Huh? :confused

Just in case anyone else gets the same problem: To completely uninstall Avira and reinstall it fixed it for me. I just finished an update, and am now running a full system scan for good measure, since I haven't been able to update in a couple of weeks.

    All is well again. :)
