Where to start is been a on goin gbattle to try and figure out why I am getting bad latency searched the net and tried what I think is everything so now I need some help.

    I have a
    i7 920
    gigabyte ex58-UD5 board
    8800gtx gfx card
    newest bios f13
    corsair 3x2Gb 2100+
    realtek hd audio
    realtech lan pcie 1g

    newest drivers for everything.
I have disabled everything still get latency, i play company of heroes and it just drops me every now and then it does nto do it all the time but its annoying when it does.
I have change to a usb wireless stick to see if its the lan sill same.
If I only install windows and win7 it from the start i get it after formating there is no in between result from the very beginning so no where to start from as in when it has no latency.

This is driving me nuts with this system should have no lag.
Any help would be great trying to get to the bottom of it.

Latency monitor says I have 2 drivers that are slow

Highest DPC routine execution time (µs): 24235.5230
Driver with highest DPC routine execution time: USBPORT.SYS - USB 1.1 & 2.0 Port Driver, Microsoft Corporation

Highest reported total DPC routine time (%): 0.042441
Driver with highest DPC total execution time: ataport.SYS - ATAPI Driver Extension, Microsoft Corporation

If more specs or files needs please say.
I have turned off the power save bios settings as well as the win 7 power management eveything on 100% do not turn anything off.

    Welcome to the forum:)

Just to be clear our talking about latency in online games, ping if you will? Or are you using the term latency to describe general sluggish performance?

So then is this in all online games or just company of heroes,or all games in general on or offline? Does this happen on all servers you try to connect to if yes post the millisecond latency score of the servers your trying to connect to,are they all below 100ms before the game starts? Are they all located in your country or area?

Run this test and add the results with your next post, this is a basic test of your broadband connection.

    http://www.speedtest.net/

Do you know the rate speed of your broadband or whether anyone else in the house shares your connection?

Next download and run this test and post the results, your video card '8800gtx' should should score around the 5000 mark.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/3DMark_Vantage_d5948.html

Next download and run the cpu test,in this test your cpu should score again around 5000.

    http://majorgeeks.com/Passmark_PerformanceTest_d160.html

These three tests will give us a general guide to how well your system is running, let us know and again welcome:)

I wish could ping the server but they have ping turned off.
The game is p2p so after you join the game that some one is hosting they say the server has nothing to do withthe game its just a lobby and score system.

I get 60fps in the game but when it comes to playing it can just drop me without any warning no lag or anything just disconnection from the others, still connected to the internet and skype could be chatting with a friend he says when i get disconnected my voice goes metal micky breaking up.
which makes me think its internet connection or the lan.
It does not happen all the time but it can be fine for hours then can drop me 3 times in a row one after the other in each gam eit gets very annoying.

I know if I was to connect to to many people in a torrent program it can make my connection go down I am wondering if its the same thing when playing the game as it is still connected to the lobby with hundreds of connections. But how would I limit the amount of connections for the program to rule that out ?

I checked the audio latency with DPC checker and latency monitor.
and get major spikes in the driver speed well above what they should be at idle.

Your computer looks to be performing properly with regard to gaming, the 3d mark health check is a pretty decent guide.

Can you you the speedtest test and answer my other questions?

For testing don't use a wireless connection use a direct lan cable from your computer to your router, reset your router also by turning it on and off before the test.

Also have you updated your computer video card driver, audio driver and drivers in general and kept windows up to date? Go to control panel, system, device manager and look for any red cross or yellow exclamation marks, post your findings. Are you also using an anti virus and firewall or spyware protection,if so post which ones your using.

These are the places to start before you look for latency in specific drivers,I've used DPC on many computers and nearly all of them appear to have latency problems even though they suffer no performance problems what so ever.

I've even just tested my laptop and it also has red latency spikes like yours and receives the bad latency message but it runs perfectly, there are a lot of high red spikes in your chart though but even if you interpret the results as a real time driver related latency problem you still have to perform the basic steps to ensure your system is running efficiently and many services within windows and which you use and need every day can cause those latency problems.

There are better tests for looking for driver and software related performance problems which I will go once your system passes these basic tests and is updated.

Vodaphone? Are you using a modem that connects to the mobile network? If so these are notoriously unreliable when it comes to online gaming so I wouldn't even use it,better to stick to your wired broadband connection and diagnose that.

    Those numbers are fine though.

I have caught what it does on a ping txt
As you can see it suddenly goes to a massive ping 1200 ms
As soon as I leave the game the ping goes back to 11ms

I do not disconnect from the net still connected but everything seems to funny.

Its like I have overloaded my connections in a peer to peer program like say utorrent, it is starting to break down but as soon as i come out of the game it goes back to normal.

    Code:
