I've just been IP baned from a forum (forum.bodybuilding.com) for disagreeing with a MOD there. I would still like to visit the site as I get a lot of information from there. I heard that by using something called a 'proxy' it can mask my IP address and let me access the site again.

Please could somebody explain this to me as I need to get some information from the site, even if I can't post anything anymore.

You can use a proxy, it's easy use google to find proxy servers. It's easy. Then once you have one in internet explorer you'd go to tools->Internet options, then the connections tab, then on that screen press the LAN Settings... button at the bottom. From there you simply fill in the proxy info you got from google and hit OK, then just browse normally. It's basicly the same with any browser so if you don't use IE you should be able to find it anyways.

Although as Toke says, it's best to just get unbanned, and if you use proxy to try and bug the forum mods you end up just pissing everyone off so don't do that.
