bargain buddy not a buddy at all

I am fairly new to virus scans and spyware scans and such..but, i have adaware se and have not had a problem until recently..i ran my aase and did the quarantine but it would not remove bargain buddy, 1800search assistant and few others....it goes thru the process and when it gets to deleting, it freezes. most of these item have a tac of 8 or better.....i have 176 items on my pc and it is slowing it down....keep in mind it is slow enough as i am running '98 with 64 mb ram and a 56 k dial up...grrrr....someone please help and give me some ideas?

If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.
