Been trying to clean up this computer for 2 days... need help

    I've never had any problems with spyware and/or viruses on my personal computers but I'm trying to clean up this one and having a hell of a time. I've followed the directions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST thread, tried just about all of the cleaning procedures, and popups are still consistantly coming up. In Ad-Aware, it appears as if Look2Me is involved, but I've tried the special removal for it and it hasn't done anything. I've been doing all sorts of scans in both safe and normal mode, and nothing has worked. I am pretty sure I've removed the majority of what was on the laptop to begin with, but what's left over is giving me a real headache.

    I attached the HJT log.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

    The READ ME steps are not complete until all of steps 0 thru 7 are finished.

    - I do not see MS Windows Defender.
    - step 6 has two required online scanners to be run and their logs must be attached. Please complete both scans and attach the two logs.
    - It does not look like Spybot was run (either that or it was not installed exactly as requested.

    You have a whole load of problems and you are going to have to run a few other cleaning tools and a other scans that give us more information to fix problems.

    Now run the below and attach the requested log:

    Look2Me VX2 Removal

    Now download FindQool by LonnyRJones
    • Extract the files and place the FindQool folder into root folder of your hard disk. This is usually C:\
    • Open the folder and run Qlocate.bat
    • attach the contents of the txt.log which will open when the scan is finished.
