Best program for listing files and folders within a folder?

  1. I've come across software like this but I didn't pay much attention because I didn't think I needed it. Now I have a use for it.

    I use freeware called File List Generator - LS.exe
    On some sites it is called LS - File List Generator.
    It is really good because you can configure the output to be however you want it to appear by ticking option boxes. It doesn't install but just runs from an executable file so is totally portable. You can also filter what types of files it will put in the list.

    I really like Directory Lister freeware edition (you can purchase a Pro version). It's kind of old but runs great on Win XP & 7. Here's a short description:

    It's not available on this site so just Google it and you'll get a bunch of download links. Here's one from a site that I trust:

    I downloaded it and scanned it on VirusTotal where it was deemed safe by all 54 antivirus scanners.
