Have you tried partitioning the HDD into two sections? I have found this worked for me

    Hope it helps

Many times the BIOS limit has no effect on Windows. I recently hooked a 250gb HD up to an older PII IBM and it had the same BIOS limit of 137gb. But after installing Win2000 SP4, Windows saw the entire drive size correctly regardless of the BIOS "limit". So give it a shot, it may be the same in your case... or you can try Frodo's advice and create multiple partitions; in your case you'd probably need 3 partitions of +/- 100gb each 'cuz 2 partitions would still be over the 137gb limitation.... you can always check HP's web site for a possible BIOS upgrade that will (hopefully) fix the issue.
