I changed my CMOS battery just recently ( 1 day ago ) because I had a problem with my clock being set back to an earlier date (Jan 01 2002) and change my CPU speed setting at start-up. I just changed my CMOS battery, could there be something else going on with my unit that is not suppose to be happening? :(

Go into BIOS (usually F2 or DELETE key) & change to either OPTIMUM or DEFAULT setup.

Changing your CMOS battery causes your system BIOS to return to default settings, time/date/cpu & memory timings, everything.

Sometimes if you forget to reset your time & date before booting into Windows many programs especially anti-virus type programs or auto updating programs can Go Bonkers
