bios rom checksum error

    I have a compaq presario sr1750nx desktop, when i turn it on i get the following message; award bootblock bios v1.0
    copyright (c) 2000 award software inc
    bios rom checksum error
    detecting ide atapi device
    detecting floppy drive a media
    insert system dsk and press enter
    then 1 beep
    do i need to flash my bios? If so can u tell me how to get into my system because when i press any of the f# keys it does not go into setup. Also i do not have a floppy drive on this system.
