Black scrren on boot

we have just put in a new mother board and cpu and when we boot the pc the screen stays black .. any idea's ?

 

A bit more information is required here... are you using on-board graphics or a graphics card ??? and what are the specifications of your computer,are the fans running, any beeps etc... the more information you give the more response you will get.

 

using a grafix card ..wich works on anouther system theirs a beep when turnt on fans running im not sure on specs its my mates , he took it too a second hand shop today and the bloke is saying it needs a new motherboard?!? maybe trying to make more money out of him?

 

Can you get into the BIOS settings by continually pressing 'Delete' when you sart computer and have you tried the onboard graphics connection, Is it a single ''BEEP'' you hear, is the memory stick OK, try another if you have one. And is Monitor OK, Make sure all components are well seated.ie memory,etc.
