bleh help me figure out this ****ing noise

    i keep hearing like somthing is being forced against / slows down a bit constantly; but im not sure what? does the cd/dvd rom keep reading the disc thats inside if its idle? or can it be a hdd? how can i resolve this issue its O M F G anoying.

    if you open up my computer, the CD will spin and eventually idle down when not accessed.

    ok so its my hdds' why would they make this rubbing noise ? it seems to do it every few mins ; does this mean i should be looking for a new one?

    Typically if the HD's start making noises that they never used to it's a sign they are dying. Of course they could work for years still. Or they could die tommorow. It's not really the best check but an HD making weird noises isn't a good thing.
