Hi, I use Comcast ISP... I have gone to their site to see if I could block incoming spam e-mail that is not addressed to me but apparently my addy is in the Bcc of the spam e-mail(which I cannot open or see); I updated anti-spam via Comcast's 'update' button but still getting 3 to 6 spam e-mails a day... Is there a setting I can change?? Thanks for any input

Specs: WinXP Pro/SP3/OE7 and use AVG which scans my e-mail for viruses...

Also want to say to above to first post that I have been using 'block sender' to no avail; the spammer(s) just generate a new 'from' addy...

I am open to an additional software app that would block this kind of spam but really don't want to add another on if I can help it...
Can Comcast put a block on Bcc e-mail coming to me??

Honestly, I'd suggest just using Gmail. I've been using Gmail for a long time, and have never received a spam message in my inbox, and not that many in my spam folder.

Hi, thanks for the reply but I like OE and been using it for a long time without any probs or issues or spam and I am real good about keeping up my email addy security, I really don't want to switch to G-mail...

I will try reporting "missed spam" to Comcast for a week or so and see if they can improve their filtering; if that doesn't work, then I may try a free e-mail spam filter...

Hey, yeah, thanks for that clarification; I wasn't thinking straight...
Thanks too on your thoughts of a spam filter; don't really know of anyone who has ever used or tried one...

Can you upgrade to Outlook (2003 or higher)? It has a pretty good filter built in. Filing that mailwasher does a good job but is an ad on and does need minor configuration. It only slows the incoming by a second or two.

I used to use (and only stopped using because I switched to Office) Popfile which I thought was a very good auto-classification "learning" filtering system.
