Blurry CRT Monitor

I recently noticed that my CRT monitor is getting quite blurry. Is there any way to fix this? Tried a few things like degaussing...no luck. Anyone know of a quick fix? The moniter is not too old...around 2 years I think.

look on the extreior of the monitor for 2 small holes that you could put a long screwdrive into. One of those pots should be for the focus control. If you've got a monitor that doesn't have the holes in the outside of the case then you'll have to decase it and get at the pots located directly on the flyback. This is not a safe thing to do if you do not understand what you're getting into. The high voltage side of a CRT has enough voltage and curent to potentially be LETHAL. I do not recommend this if you are not experienced with high voltage safety precautions.

Take the case off of the monitor. The usually slide off towareds the back after takeing out some screws. Locate the flyback, it will most likely be the biggest thing on the PCB and have some large windings and capacitors surrounding it. The dangerous part about adjusting the focus is tat you have to do it with the monitor on to get it right. hile the monitor is on the flyback will be outputting 25-30KV nominal, so be very careful with a screwdriver around it. One of the pots on the flyback should be marked with an f. This is the one that controls focus, the other will change the brightness. Simply turn the screw until the focus looks right, then tun off the monitor an case it back up.
