browser hijacker for ebay and apple sites

i've checked around on some forums and they seem to think the problem with the 'adfarm mediaplex' hijacker is cookie based, but i've cleared my cookies to no avail...aight that was the little back story, but the main problem is this:

when i try to go to ebay, my browser gets hijacked by www.qksrv.com and http://adfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/711-1751-2978-3?loc=http://pages.ebay.com?mpre=&UID=1sd5tjo-
798442319-1135976852242-wy&AID=2202639&PID=1436153&SID=1129532

it doesn't go to those sites, but it makes the ebay homepage continuously refresh itself

and im having a similar problem when i try to go to the apple support discussions (my itunes cleared itself yesterday so theres another problem)...on that one, it makes me go to their product page

sorry i forgot this bit: im on firefox, and for whatever reason, it works on IE, which i dont want to have to use...i tried weblocker, but its not working, and only lets me have one site at a time blocked...

 

I could be mistaken but it seems to me that both of those 'hijackers' you listed, are associated with ads on Ebay. If you are talking about the url changing constantly at the bottom of the page, that is normal. As for the apple support discussions and itunes, I am not sure how to help you there. Someone will be along with more knowledge than myself.

 

well thats what people were saying on other forums, but its not, the page doesnt give an ad or anything like what your saying, it constantly refreshes the ebay front page- no ad, and yeah, the address in the bottom changes, but it changes in the address bar too and then pops back to ebay but i cant navigate the site

 

Have you gone though the sticky(s) in the spyware forum? They cover just about everything you need to know on the topic of malware removal.

thats ccleaner and it will clean index.dat, internet explorer and firefox cookies and it will clean out any leftover stuff in the computer made by windows.
