    No need to run MBRCheck again as I instructed. I see you already ran it.

    [IMG] Fix items using RogueKiller.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these 5 detections:
    • [TASK][SUSP PATH] 6bc41ed8 : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Temp\\setup1626003864.exe -> FOUND
    • [TASK][SUSP PATH] 8ffc3240 : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Temp\\setup2299605080.exe -> FOUND
    • [TASK][SUSP PATH] a5c7e300 : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Temp\\setup2630611624.exe -> FOUND
    • [TASK][SUSP PATH] bb13c184 : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Temp\\setup2890234116.exe -> FOUND
    • [HJ INPROC][ZeroAccess] HKCR\[...]\InprocServer32 : (C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\{83c7b75c-c2d7-d5fe-0f23-a07a88695865}\n.) -> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

    ...and the same for Files and Folder entries please:

    • [Tr.Karagany][FOLDER] plugs : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\plugs --> FOUND
    • [Tr.Karagany][FOLDER] shed : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\shed --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] @ : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\{83c7b75c-c2d7-d5fe-0f23-a07a88695865}\@ --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] U : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\{83c7b75c-c2d7-d5fe-0f23-a07a88695865}\U --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] L : C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\{83c7b75c-c2d7-d5fe-0f23-a07a88695865}\L --> FOUND

    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet

    Delete these files.

    C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Templates\emu066513t475mbwwj8xs60fccl2wr1t

    C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Templates\q7o6jl7l45h3g8rekv00o6qoai7t88n

    Delete this folder.

    C:\ProgramData\7531CC77000114420053EAF24F147CE7

    • Re run RogueKiller and attach the new log.
    • Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
    • Let me know how things are running!

    Logs attached. The misdirects have not been occurring thus far after I ran the above process. One thing that also got fixed was my desktop icons. They were automatically arranging by type and name but have reverted back to normal now. Thanks.

    Before we continue I would like for you to use MSConfig to put this machine back into normal start up mode

    Just a couple of things I didn't focus on enough earlier, they need to go:

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    • O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [henefx] rundll32.exe ",WriteSpan
    • O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [cantc] "C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" ,_strtoul

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    OK, logs look good, if everything is running nicely again follow the below steps.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    My computer might not be cleaned up after all. I am getting redirects in Yahoo using Firefox. Do you see anything else in the logs?

    I gave final steps, so could not have been seeing anything else. If this is just firefox, let's do this:

    We are going to be uninstalling your old version of FireFox and installing the new version. So do the below to save bookmarks:

    • Run FireFox and click Bookmarks.
    • Then select Organize Bootmarks.
    • Then on the next window click File and then select Export. Save the bookmarks.html file to your Desktop for later use in importing.
    Now download and save the installer for the current version of FireFox but DO NOT install it yet. Get it here: Mozilla FireFox

    You will need exit FireFox now and use Internet Explorer to continue with the below until we reinstall FireFox.

    Start by uninstalling FireFox and then reboot. (Except when you uninstall, don't use standard method, use a third party uninstaller - Revo Uninstaller. ) Do not skip the reboot.
    After reboot, delete the below folders:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • C:\users\UserAccount\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

    where UserAccount is the actual user account name being used.

    Now reinstall FireFox from the file previously downloaded.
    Import your bookmarks file. (similar process to exporting).

    Any better?

    Re-installing Firefox seems to have done the trick. Thanks!
