Burning A Mpeg File?

    I recently found an avi file on my computer that i want to burn to a blank dvd. so i was told to convert that file to mpeg and i did that. now i need to know what program specific to burn that mpeg file with? i have roxio, dvd decrypter, nero, and none of these programs work for me. i really need to burn this and its killing me that i dont know how to. all help is greatly appreciated.
