C: Error Checking failure

    I last checked my hard drive for errors a couple of months ago but when I tried to do it last week, it stopped after phase 2. I tried again today and I got the same message:

    I was wondering what's wrong with it as I haven't met this problem before.

    What type of disk do you have? Western Digital, Maxtor, etc.

    Try either in safe mode or stop all non-essential programs from running in the background, sometimes a certain app thats accessing the HDD can stop the disk check.
