Can I create an ASR disk without floppy?

I want to create a backup using ASR (Automated System Recovery) on XP SP2 but I don't have a floppy drive. I have a writeable CD/DVD drive that can create bootable CDs. I do want to be able to boot so I can access my internal HD in case it won't boot at all. Can I still use ASR or do I have to install a 3rd party backup method?

    Thanks!

I'd advice you to use 3d party backup progs (like true image, norton ghost, etc.) to create a restore points, they can store image everywhere you like, and create bootable media from CDs, DVD, USB drives and so on.

Thanks, I will use a 3rd party solution. Seems like in the last 15 years MS could find time to bring their stone age backup at least to support CDs, but they have lots of time to work on things I don't need.
