As in the title: I had to do a re-install of Windows (Vista), as my system was crashing or running so slow it appeared to be crashing. The re-install worked fine, but now I have this HUGE folder called Windows.old. Uses up a lot of space on my C: drive. Can I delete it without harmful affects on my computer?

You can transfer it to a different hdd and peruse it at your leisure.

After you have saved everything you want, just delete it.

Disk Cleanup didn't work so I'm transferring all the files to my terabyte drive. 73gb! It says it has hours to go, but an hour takes about 30 seconds from what I can see.

Moving the windows.old to a different hdd is your best bet anyway.

There may be some things you want to save before you delete it.
