Can I Delete These Mcafee Files?

I bought a new HP desktop computer that included a one-month trial of McAfee security software. The month is over, so I uninstalled McAfee using the Windows 10 Uninstall program in “System Apps & Features”. When I looked again at the list of programs, McAfee was no longer listed. But when I searched the C:\ hard drive, McAfee files showed up in several places.

Then I used the MCPR tool from McAfee, and after use, McAfee files still showed up when I searched the C:\ drive.

Then I used OESIS Endpoint Assessment Tool, but nothing McAfee related showed up. But when I searched the C:\ drive, McAfee files were still there.

Then I used IObit Uninstaller. No McAfee files showed up here. But when I searched the C:\ drive, McAfee files were still there.

Attached is a list of the remaining McAfee files on my C:\ drive. Can I just delete all these files and be done with it?

What if there is anything left in the registry?

Programs I used to remove McAfee and the order I used them:

    1. Windows 10 Uninstall
    2. McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR)
    3. OESISEndpointAssessmentTool.exe
    4. IObit Uninstaller

My experience of removing McAfee is that it normally takes at least 2- 3 runs with the MCPR tool and requires a RESTART of the system in between each run.
If you have done that at least 3 times, and you have definitely restarted your system in between each run, then if it was my system I would now run CCleaner Slim > Cleaner and then its 'registry' scan > fix all issues - and do that at least twice.
If you still have left over McAfee entries then delete them manually.

I followed your instructions to remove McAfee pieces on my computer.
It appears to be gone, and I haven't had any problems as a result.

    Thanks for your help.

Yes after file deletion you should be able to delete any files and folders that are associated with that program.Make sure you check in your %appdata% folder as well to make sure it is completely gone. There are hidden files in there that are hidden from view.

The person has already followed the advice to use the official McAfee removal tool and they have posted back to say that it worked fine. You can see that by reading their response.
Best not to confuse them by looking for more files when they suggest it worked fine.

Max if it was not true i would not type it.

Just be cause you use a uninstaller does not mean it gets all the files.

I have been doing this for many years.

I know what you are saying, and I have been using those removal tools for security programs for about 15 years.
But the person was using, under advice, the specialist official removal tool and not the 'regular uninstaller'.
The whole point of using a specialist official removal tool is precisely so a person doesn't have to do what you are suggesting.
The person confirmed that it worked fine.
There is no need to send any user down the road of manual file deletion unless it is necessary.
So I would prefer not to confuse the person.

I don't see any of those files as being part of McAfee, Many belong to some HP software, most of the others are browser cached files.
