I have a mpeg-4 file on my zune that I want to put on a dvd so I can watch it on a bigger screen... like my tv instead of my zune or laptop. I don't have a dvd burner tho. Just a normal cd burner. Is there a way to convert it and burn it on a regular cdr disc? Like to avi format or something? Or do I have to buy a dvd burner and a special blank dvd disc? I am so broke and it's so hard watching this file on my zune cuz the screen is so small. Am I just SOL?

thanks for any and all suggestions! You guys are always so amazing to me and I appreciate it more than you realize! :)

    Peace!!!

I don't have any specifics but there is a format VCD (Video CD) that used to be popular mostly in Asia.

I think the first thing to do would be to check your stand alone DVD player manual (if you have it or find it online) and see what types of discs/formats it will play. Then maybe check Doom9 or VideoHelp websites to see if VCD format will work for you.

I'll help look around for VCD guides but find out what types of files/formats your DVD player can read first.

sach2 is correct about video-cd's - you can burn a video to them that will play on most DVD players. However, a regular CD will hold only about an hours worth of video.

Been a while since I dealt with those - back several years ago I would use a program called Tmpeg (Tsunami Mpeg) to convert AVI files to mpeg, then burn the converted files to CD using Nero, I think - though there are other programs for that I'm sure. I only had on instance where one wouldn't play on an older DVD player.

yea, first, you should check which format your dvd player can support, convert mpeg-4 first. and the regular cdw may not help u
