Can you explain this? Windows GUI problems

    I have attached a picture of some of the problems have have with windows that I open. Some seem like they are distorted. I have messed with a lot of settings, services, and so forth in an effort to speed up my pc boot time, and it may have caused this.:eek:

    Does anybody know how to fix it?confused I am using a digital monitor with 1280 by 1024 resolution and a video card that I installed my self. I am also running Windows XP Media Center on a Dell XPS 200.

    Have you tried lowering the resolution to 1024 x 768, and what graphics card are you using, - have you got latest drivers for the graphics card ?
