Can you recover saved over paint files in W7?

I go through this process of taking a screen shot, saving it in a paint file name "One" which takes my screenshot BMP to a PNG instant convert, then I load this picture to a spread sheet.

No regardless of whether or not there is a better way to do this, I have run into an issue. I accidentally forgot to save my spread sheet before closing it. Is there a way to look at my history of the previous saved pictures, even though I saved over them?

Right click on the file you overwrote and select properties. Click the Previous Version tab and see if any are available.

What method are you using to capture screen shots? I have the impression you're using the Print Screen key and then copying from the clipboard to Paint. Am I right? If so, why not use the Snipping Tool in Win 7? It's a more flexible way of handling screen prints.

Also, I think you would find Clipboard Manager helpful; you would be able to retrieve your lost screen shots from it, assuming you have not cleared the history in Clipboard Manager. Clipboard Manager is an enhanced clipboard that retains a history of numerous copy actions, not just the last copy action.

The snip tool is nice. Thanks, didn't even know it was there.
