Cannot burn cd's - Folder appears but is not Writable

I have a P4 running Windows XP Pro sp2. Problem I am having is that something has happened and I can no longer burn cd's using the writable cd folder option under XP.

When I insert a blank cd within a few seconds I get a folder to appear but it is not the writable folder where you drag and drop a file to burn. This occurs on both writable drives that are in my machine.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried any other methods of burning your CDs such as Nero or Roxio?
