Bought laptop 9 mo's ago and all of a sudden Windows will not activate. I think I have a couple of days left. Microsoft "support" is useless in my trying to activate this. They keep telling me I need the product key. We go round and round on that, as I have no way of getting it. They keep trying to sell me a W7 disk. No surprise there. I knew the "support" would end when I told them I would just buy a disk off of craigslist for $30. And it did.

All of the software you can download, that will give you product key info, work with all OS's BUT W7 Enterprise.

The laptop has Windows 7 Enterprise 6.1.7601.17514
It came with Vista, which you could not pay me to use.
Windows 7 Enterprise was installed by previous owner
of the laptop, so I do not have the disk or any other information
from him. He is no longer reachable.

Through Microsoft's site I did an online validation check of the
current OS and Microsoft states that it is "Genuine".

As you can see, from the MGADiag tool, I can only see part of the Product Key. Thanks, in advance, for any help :)

I don't have a software solution for you but I have seen a few laptops that had the COA placed under the battery so you need to remove the battery to see it.

Thanks, but I ran speccy, by Piriform, before you posted a reply. It looks like it gave me the product key, as "serial number".

I have used this for 9 months now. I think, but not sure, that I screwed myself up by disabling some services (services.msc). KMService rings a bell. I think I disabled it and that seems to be around the time I got the error. Now when I try to start KMService again, in Services, it won't activate. It says "Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. But there are no "dependencies" in KMService???

I seemed to have gotten the product key using Piriform's Speccy software
