I recently attempted to install vocaloid 2 on my PC, and after the reboot, I experienced the same problem as the user in this thread did: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=258768
(I would have posted this there but it said I didn't have the permission to).

I have run FRST as detailed in that thread and have recieved a log file which is attached to the post. I was hoping someone could give me a hand as they did with Viarce.

I am using an ASUS P8H61 motherboard, running Windows 7 64 bit.

    Thanks for the help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Download this >> View attachment fixlist.txt

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.
    • You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST64.exe on your flash drive.
Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now see if you can boot into normal Windows.

    Thanks for the fast response.

I have run the fix function on FRST as instructed and attached the fix log as requested however my computer still boots straight into recovery mode.

Okay then perhaps you need to run Startup Repair because there was nothing else to fix other than what we fixed.

I have tried running start up repairs but to no avail, should I try running FRST again or is there nothing I can do at this point

Yes run another scan with FRST and let's see if everything was fixed and also whether anything else appeared.

Everything looks normal based on this. I cannot explain why you cannot boot up. Are you sure that you still cannot boot up in any mode ( normal, safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt )? Make sure that no external drives are connected when you try to boot up.

Also tell me exactly what happens when you attempt to boot in each of these modes.

I see a bunch of System Restore points but they are all from Jan 9th. The earliest is at 09:05:07 AM. Not sure if this was before your problems began?

I have already disconnected all external drives so now all that is connected to my PC is my keyboard, mouse, microphone, and wireless adaptor.
Whenever I try and boot in any mode it get's part way through loading before bringing up a progress bar and saying that windows is loading files before entering start up repairs.
After messing around trying different boot options I went back to the original boot order and got this message: "PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable" followed by: "PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM". After opening up my case and checking everything was properly connected I tried booting again and got the same error, do you think this is connected to the problem and if so do you have any idea how to solve it?

I suggest that you post this problem in the Hardware Forum or possibly the Software Forum.
This error could mean that you have to modify the boot order in BIOS. Change the hard disk to be higher in the boot order than Network Boot and also higher than booting from USB or other devices to see that happens. It could also mean that it cannot find the correct boot partition or boot info on your hard disk inorder to boot.
