I have an old desktop that I am trying to get into usable condition again, it's a Gateway 310 S H. I was attempting to replace Win XP with Debian but my CD drive won't boot up and I can't boot into Debian to install it. The disc drive works but I can't get it to boot my Debian disc on start-up. I changed the boot priorities and put it first, I even tried to put it as the only thing that booted and it said to insert boot media. I have used the same disc to put Debian onto several other computers so I know the disc works, I am lost as to what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

Debian is probably a DVD and not a CD. Does the computer have an optical drive that reads DVDs?
