Can't download AVG Free edition

I fill out the registration and I get the email with the link, but when I paste the link to my address bar it sends me back to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

instead of the link I was supposed to be going to. I can't do anything there except register again and get sent a new email link, which again sends me back to the same place.

In short, I can't get an access code to download and install AVG.

I've emailed them about the website problem but got no response.

 

Go to the main page at www.majorgeeks.com & download it from spyware tools.

 

Well, first off it's not a spyware tool it's antivirus. Secondly, if you download it, then you end up in the same rut:
They want the access code. You click on the "Get Access Code" button. It goes to the Grisoft site where you register. You get an email with a link. You go to the link and it takes you back to where you register.

See my first post. All downloading from here does is take a little longer. I still can't get an access code. I wonder if this is happening to everyone or just something wrong with my browser or something?

 

Perhaps I should elaborate:

I go here to download AVG:

Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Download AVG Free Edition"
Click on it.

I am now at:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
Oddly, the same place except now there is a License agreement. I click "yes, I Agree" and am sent to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Again, still the same but now it is a registration page. I fill out the required information fields and hit "Continue"
which sends me to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php?status=completedform&email=scottec@comcast.net

Which is at least a different place! Here it says:
Thank you for completing the online registration form for AVG Free. An email message will be sent to your email address with the link for downloading. After performing the download, you will receive a second email message with your serial number. You will need the serial number when installing AVG Free.
If you do not receive the message with the download link, please complete the AVG Free Edition Registration Form again. Please pay special attention when filling your email address.

I then check my email and I have the link for downloading. In this case it is:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php?uid=v4XprKX6ZM.5Vd39GvrKncTb5LAxE0fnh
QQAAA
(expired after 24 hours so is probably okay to post it here)

I click on that link but it takes me back to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Where if I scroll down I find the "Download AVG Free Edition"
Click on it.

I am now at:
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
Again and again it shows the License agreement. I click "yes, I Agree" and am sent to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Again, it takes me to the registration page. I fill out the required information fields for a second time and hit "Continue"
which sends me to:

http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php?status=completedform&email=scottec@comcast.net

And I get this message AGAIN:

I never get the access code. All I keep getting are new links which keep me going in a perpetual loop.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks, this is frustrating and I really want to download this software. Even if I download it from Majorgeeks I still have to get the access code and I still end up in this perpetual loop.

 

Did the link in your confirmation email wrap to the next line, as it did in your post? If so, the URL you are clicking on is incomplete, and the grisoft website doesn't know how to handle it, so it puts you to that page. Highlight and copy the entire link into your browser's location bar, checking that no spaces were introduced by the line wrap, and eliminating them if so.
