Can't login to gmail, yahoo, and others

As of yesterday the following happened:
couldn't login to yahoo
couldn't login to gmail
couldn't login to facebook
couldn't login to twitter

I could get for yahoo and goodle's mail page

Then ALL internet connectivity was lost (no it wasn't my ISP)

Ran spybot and malware bytes
Ran Avast
nothing detected
restored computer from backup (greatful)

Now just a problem with yahoo and gmail

Dumped cache and cookies
rebooted router, DSL modem, and computer
before I couldn't get to the router's page but now I can

Obviously, I can log in here

It's like malware messed up known major sites *shrug*

Ideas?

It looks like my Sygate firewall was to blame. NOW it lets me in! *shrug*
