Can't re-load Norton AntiVirus 2006

I wrote Tim a message yesterday regarding a virus that took out everything including my Norton Antivirus 2006 program. I still have remaining days on my subscription and also have the product key. When I tried to download the program through Symantec, it didn't work. Tim suggested that the virus might have disrupted my download tools and gave me an address to try.

When I tried it, I was prompted to register and Tim's e-mail with that address disappeared. I also lost the software to reconnect my computer, an hp compac with my hp deskjet 3550. I also lost my Microsoft Word program...as well as other spyware and spybot software.

I drive profesionally and need to be able to print out detailed destination maps from Google, et.al. I also need my security systems restored.

What's the plan folks?

Are you sure that your computer is no longer infected? It sounds to me like you may still have something lurking. If you have not gone through our cleaning procedures, I'd like to move this thread to our malware forum where you can receive additional help from chaslang or Shadow_Puter_Dude.

 

As you had given essentially the same reply Tim, I'll go ahead and move this thread now. Chas or SPD may have a clue as to what is going on with the programs being deleted..could be a special removal tool might be needed before the clean up can be done.
