    Hello To All,
I am brand new to these forums and I have a Major problem. On the 18th of Aug I online-purchased an anti-virus/anti-spyware package from PCSecurityshield.com . The product name: The Shield Deluxe 2008. I found them it via a "G" search. Downloaded, paid & installed program. It was fine for a couple of days then it would detect a zlob-16157 trojanbackdoor and not do anything about it. Then came the full screen and window-like pop-ups for various ?rogue anti-V & anti-SW companies . I cancelled my subscription to the above considering it to be a poor program . I have repeatedly asked them how to remove their program as it will not uninstall with ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. It is still on the START LIST; still in the PROGRAM registry. It seems that it is inert but I'm not sure. I can't get it to launch , its not in the tray and there are no icons.

I would like to take it completely off my machine so that I can put on some sort of protection for my computer. I don't want conflicting programs running, I know that much! I am running win XP. This is an awful way to introduce myself but, I need help! Thanks.:cry:cry

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Yes that program is a rogue tool that you do not want on your PC.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
