ive got a dvd burner and i want to give my old cd-rw to my friend. it is a ASUS CRW-4824A with ultra speed. he has 2 comps-one with win95 and the other win98. do they support plug and play or will i need to get a driver for him. hopefuly it isnt BIOS, id like to avoid an update there

95 and 98 are both plug and play OSes.

best bet is the 98 machine, just so you don't have to deal with ASPI layers to get the cd burning software to work properly.
