CD-ROM thinks it is BD-ROM

Today I discovered, while attempting to install Starcraft 2, that my CD/DVD-ROM drive was not reading the disc that I was inserting. When I click on Start>Computer I notice it is listed as BD-ROM Drive (F: ). Probably also worth noting that I just upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 ( actually I wiped all the XP files). I have tried a few programs that I saw suggested in Windows forums but none helped. I also did see one other thread on this same exact issue however it didn't seem to get solved, there were only 4-5 responses. I really hope someone here can help. What makes this issue even more odd to me is that I installed Windows 7 using a disc and all worked fine then.

    Thanks

    An update.

I had Deamon Tools installed on my PC. After uninstalling it I discovered that it was the BD-ROM. So it appears that my CD/DVD-ROM drive isn't showing up at all. Now when I click Start>Computer all that shows up is my hard drive. When I go to Device Manager there is something listed under Disk Drives (ST31000333AS ATA Device). I have tried uninstalling it then restarting my computer but this did not fix it. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!

That device listed as ST31000333AS ATA Device is your HD. Its a seagate Baracuda drive. You need to look in your BIOS to see if your drive is being picked up in there. Also try looking in disk manager which is under control panel, administrative tools, disk management
