CD's not recognized in cd/dvdrom Drive

    Many times when I put a disk in the drive it isn't recognized (go to My Computer and there's nothing showing in the drive) in XP yet if I reboot the system the disk is recognized afterwards. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

    Athlon XP 1253 Memory: 1 gig MB
    ATI Radeon 9200 128 mb Soundblaster16 PCI
    Toshiba cd/dvdrom drive

    Are yoiu using any emulator software Alcohol, Daemon, etc..?

    yes I have clonecd and alcohol but A-ray scanner shows no copy protection on disk so this shouldn't effect it.
