Cerber Ransomware Attack

    Hello Major Geeks,

    In the welcome forum, I asked for help dealing with this ceber ransomware issue. And Eldon was gracious enough to get me started, but I have come to an area that I am not sure of and would like to get some help on. This confuses me:

    For Windows 10 users - don't worry about UAC. Just remember to use Right Click select Run As Administrator for all the tools.

    NOTE: DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL UAC has been disabled and you have rebooted.

    I have Windows 10, so does this mean that I do not have to worry about the UAC? Plus, I am the only one using my computer, there are no other users listed.

    I have been doing the scans of the different downloads that the Windows 7, 8, and 10 requires. Can someone help me?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Just ignore the warning about having UAC disabled and continue on with all of the scan tools. Attach the requested logs when you are finished.

    Did you actually have any files that became encrypted? I assume that you did not pay any ransom?

    Oh I see from your other thread that you are doing a complete reinstall! I assume that you now do not need any malware removal help?
