Every time I boot Windows XP I have to open the Volume Control and mute certain channels and adjust others. They always revert to some random assortment.

Is there a way to make the levels persistent?

Could you please post the make and model of your computer and the version of XP you're running (home, pro, 32 bit, 64 bit) and service pack (2,3)?

Unfortunately, it's not possible via Windows in Windows XP. It is possible under Windows 7.

This page will give you some information on applications which support volume normalization though under XP. :)
