The new version of ChrisTV-Lite ( http://majorgeeks.com/ChrisTV_Lite_d4581.html ) now includes Relevant Knowledge, a not-so-nice internet hog, at the very least!
Straight from his own installation: "In order to provide this free download, RelevantKnowledge software, provided by TMRG, Inc., a comScore, Inc. company, is included in this download"
While, in general, I have found ChrisTV to be a nice little app, could somebody update the download page to reflect the change and, since the software insists on upgrading whenever a new version is released, how do we warn folks?

    Hi

Cheers for the heads up, but as Tim who is the main updater and c-owner of the site doesnt always have the time to review every post on the forum, using the Report a Bad Link option on the downloads page or emailing him direct on tim @ majorgeeks.com and letting him know will have this resolved quickly.

    Cheers.

I ran the installer. While I don't like toolbars many popular softwares are using them these days and if MG's removed all of them that do we would loose a bunch of popular downloads.

You can easily opt-out of installing the adware/toolbar.

I always choose not to install any new toolbars and it still installed the malware which became evident when browser windows started refusing to close nicely.

Thanks for the extra info davismccarn. I'm going to do a full install with it now and get some detailed info on just what it installs.

You can (at least with the latest version of ChrisTV-Online) opt out of the Relevant Knowledge by NOT agreeing to the EULA that follows the toolbar option page (there is already a comment at the foot of the description on the MG downkload page).

I just checked this with the ChrisTV-Lite and I assume it's the same for all versions and updates.

I didn't go past the toolbar yesterday but the very next screen is as satrow described. It's easy to opt out and if you do there is no spyware/adware installed.

I don't like it but it is clearly noted during the install how to opt-out.

So I unchecked the toolbar; but, didn't fully read the EULA.....
I guess that (sorta) makes it mybad; though, it is awfully sneaky.
You can also uninstall the Relevant Knowledge after the fact as it appears in Add/Remove Programs.
